A NIGHT OF COMEDY with Headliner Jason Douglas

also featuring Ken Scott + Dustin Cole

LIVE AT Charlevoix Cinema III

Saturday, November 12, 2016 @ 8 pm

Comedian 1

Ken was born and raised in the mid-west and has had the opportunity to travel, and make jokes about the world in general. Ken is an older guy with a fresh perspective on marriage, divorce, children, politics, and current events.

There is no subject he can't talk about......or that he won't talk about.

Comedian 2

Comedy's party boy navigates the waters of marriage and fatherhood while still trying to be "cool"!

A regional winner of the Midwest Comedy Challenge in 2012 and 2014, Dustin has performed in 25 states over the past two years.

The voice of the 30 something generation that refuses to grow up.  His material consists of dating in the 21st century, day jobs, and back hair ... Yes we said back hair.

PG-18 in content, he's a staple in comedy clubs throughout the Midwest and Northeast.

Comedian 3 (HEADLINER)

With his quick wit and commanding stage presence Jason Douglas takes his audience on a roller coaster ride of laughs from the word go.  Incorporating a barrage of "pop" culture references, funny stories, and off the wall "one liners", you can't help but laugh at this goofy, crazy, and original talent.

Jason's show pulls no punches and he refuses to sugar coat anything ... Jason tells it the way it is, the way it was, & the way it should be!

Credits include - SiriusXM Radio, ESPN's College Game Day, and The Bob and Tom Radio Show.  He's also been an opening act for Dennis Miller, Ron White, Brad Garrett, Carrot Top, Michael Buble, Foreigner, The Doobie Brothers, Beach Boys & more.

Over the past fifteen years, Michigan-based Davis has honed an impressive range of skills – songwriter, bandleader, guitarist, and vocalist among them – in the most honest possible fashion: night after night, song after song, show after show Davis simply delivered every performance as though his life depended on it. Investing himself in the American musical diaspora, he has explored the common thread connecting folk, blues, jazz, ragtime, and country forms – discovering his personal perspective as a composer in the process.

Before joining forces in 2009, both Ryan and Jerry had been active in the Michigan music scene.  Jerry is delighted to perform with his youngest son, “I have a great time playing with Ryan. Our ability to read each other and understand where we are going with a piece of music and interact and play with each other is really special.” It should come as no surprise, growing up surrounded by his father’s guitar playing and love of music, that Ryan would inherit Jerry's enthusiasm. When Ryan and Jerry formed the Younce Guitar Duo they discovered that their different musical backgrounds and approaches were complimentary. The Duo schedules approximately 150 performance dates per year.

Sam Cerniglia is a young voice with an old soul. Growing up the oldest boy in a large Italian family, loud conversation and good food were not the only things that helped this young man grow. Sam was introduced early on to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, and a menagerie of the soulful 70s.

His performance experiences range from 200 member collegiate choruses to intimate ensembles and solo work. Sam has had the privilege of working with artists such as: Blake Shelton, Cher, Paul Mirkovich, Lonnie Brooks, Ivan Neville, Joan Osborne, Koko Taylor, Paquito D’Rivera, and more. Presently, Sam sings with the Eden Orchestra in Chicago, and is elated to have been a part of Season 5 of NBC’s, “The Voice!”

“Music doesn't just allow me to express who and what I am, it grants me the gift to connect with people on a level that doesn't need an introduction,” shares Sam. He has found his musical home as a soulful crooner

The Crane Wives spin fine songs from whole cloth, and you will never want the melodies to leave your head. Initially part of the indie folk boom, their sound has grown and broadened with each new recording till categorization becomes difficult:  rock, pop, folk?  Just call it really good music.  Audiences and critics agree:  seven "Jammie" awards from influential radio station WYCE in '11, '12 and '17;  winner of Best Folk/Country song from international competition ArtPrize for "Easier" in '12; and selection as one of ten "Entries We Loved" from the renowned NPR Tiny Desk Contest for "High Horse" in '17. If you want to hear about love, life, fear, hope, pain, and the occasional natural disaster, this band, and these songs, are for you.

Laughter is the best medicine, especially if you are suffering from Cabin Fever!  Let's enjoy a night of laughter to bring in the Spring season.  Join us for a show with three comedians to help you laugh away the winter blues.
HEADLINER - LUKE THAYER - Sure he's funny with his unorthodox view of social norms and insight into the choices people make, but look at those eyes!!  His act is that of the Midwest guy now living in NYC with a wife and kid.  His talks of being a new father will leave you rolling in the aisles.  He has an odd take on everything we deal with in day to day life.  Luke has performed at numerous comedy festivals in the United States and internationally. His TV credits range from Comedy Central and MTV to the Newlywed Game and a national TV commercial.
Diego is going to start out the evening with his quick wit, rapid-fire delivery and onstage charisma.
Kevin lives by the belief that if you can't laugh at  yourself, you are not staring hard enough in the mirror! His high-energy humor will lead you on a highway of hilarity.

Jill Jack

LIVE AT Charlevoix Cinema III

Saturday, January 19, 2019 @ 8 pm

Jill Jack’s magical connection to her audience is the result of her generous artistry. By combining her gifts as a conceptual visionary with a warm gathering of musical influences, Jill touches that secret heart of ours with her melodies and lyrics. In her hometown of Detroit, Jill needs no further explanation. She’s been lauded in equal measure to her talents: Since 1997 she’s won 41 Detroit Music Awards in every conceivable category that applies to a singer-songwriter. Much of this provincial success is due to her charming stage presence and emotive songwriting. It’s simply called connecting, and it’s the bounty of a true songwriter open to all of life: her own defeats, victories, hopes dashed, dreams fulfilled, her muse, her loneliness, her misplaced love and her romantic successes.

Thank you for your interest.  We have a limited number of tickets left for this performance.  They will be available on a first come first serve basis at the door, starting at 5 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

Dad Bod Comedy Tour

LIVE AT Charlevoix Cinema III

Saturday, March 16, 2019 @ 8 pm
Please be aware, this is an Adult Humor Show. You know how embarrassing your Uncle's jokes are, right?

Billy Hoffman is a former comedy magician and theme park performer who has dropped the illusions for a life behind the comedy mic. He proudly is known as everybody's favorite inappropriate uncle.  Billy Hoffman has been featured across the nation and is a proud member of The Dad Bod Comedy Tour where he performs as a headliner. This funny uncle, husband and father of two has earned standing ovations from many Fortune 500 clients and Universities across the nation.

JR Williams fell into comedy in 2014 carrying a baby in one arm and holding a microphone in his other hand. Now the  self described “Effective Parent” of four travels the midwest using his everyday dad demeanor to vent about why he’s glad his kids are gullible, why he loves being an immature husband, and everything he hates about your kids.

JR’s jokes make him relatable to people from all walks of life. His witty one liners and warped sense of humor about his life in small town northern Michigan leave crowds in stitches and wanting more. When he isn’t putting on his own shows or featuring for some great headliners. You can find him at home in his blue leather recliner, asleep, because being married and having four kids is exhausting.

Standing 6’3” and weighing over 300 lbs, Gary’s size is as impressive as his voice, and together they command attention at any venue.  Whether it’s his insight on growing up in rural Michigan, his time in the Marine Corps, or being married with children, Gary Langley’s take on what he has learned the hard way strikes a chord with all types of audiences. He's a husband, father, and former U.S. Marine using his comedic styles to infect the world with laughter.

Gary began performing Standup comedy in 2014 and has been performed at many venues across Michigan and Hawaii.  He’s a published writer and a PA announcer for a professional minor league baseball team.

Frank and Allie

LIVE AT Charlevoix Cinema III

Saturday, April 27, 2019 @ 8 pm

Frank Lee and Allie Burbrink (Bryson City, NC) are a vocal-driven old time duo. Their April 2018 release, Roll On, Clouds, showcases their favorite songs from over two years of performing together. These pieces range from blues tradition (“Somebody On Your Bond,” “Roll and Tumble”) to bluegrass classics (“Standing on a Mountain,” “Cabin on a Hill”), yet remain rooted in the old time aesthetic. Frank’s nylon string fretless banjo is the dominant instrument, with guitar, slide guitar, and Allie’s banjo and harmonica adding to the musical texture.
Frank and Allie, core duo of longstanding string band The Freight Hoppers, have traveled extensively as touring musicians. Frank, a founding member of The Freight Hoppers, has impressed audiences all over the United States, Canada, and northern Europe with his signature clawhammer sound. Allie is a founding member of The Whipstitch Sallies, a band from Indiana that toured in the Midwest, North Carolina, Colorado, and Hawaii. Together, the pair is a powerhouse duo with appearances planned across the country and in France.

Thank you for your interest.   Ticket sales will be available on a first come first serve basis at the Cinema III door, starting at 5 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

Rob Brock Always the class clown (and spending most of his formative years in the principal's office), Rob was destined to become a comedian.  Born and raised in Wisconsin, Rob has been based out of Los Angeles since 1992 and spends most of the year on the road, "bringing the funny" to audiences around the world.  He tours regularly for the U.S. troops on the Miller Lite "Lite Laffs" program, and has performed in 10 different countries and most of the 50 states.  He worked with the Red Hot Chili Peppers at the Molson Ice Polar Beach Party.

Rob's television credits include Comedy Central's "Make Me Laugh" and "Stand-Up, Stand-Up."

Mary Santora - The 1st Lady of Accidental Comedy Club, hailing from Cleveland, Mary Santora is a fresh breath of femininity in the otherwise male dominated world of stand up. Her quick witted, observational style has landed her the opportunity to not only travel across the country in various clubs, but to open for comedic greats such as Jen Kirkman, Dave Attell, Kyle Kinane and Tom Papa.  She took second place at the 2015 Cleveland Comedy Festival, was named The Best Local Female Comedian by the Cleveland Scene Magazine two years in a row in 2016 and 2017, was chosen to compete in the 2018 Best of the Midwest competition at LaughFest in Grand Rapids, MI, and is continuing to quickly make a name for herself as one of the best up and coming comics in the Midwest.
